The third round of the Speed Racing 2011 racing series jointly organized by Ceylon Motor Sports Club, Sri Lanka Motor Cycle, Motor Racing Association and the Asian Motor Racing Club is scheduled to speed off tomorrow at the Pannala motor racing track. According to an official the second round which was held in late May drew a considerable amount of entries in both the motor car and motor bike events and this time too they have had a good response.

As usual the popular events like SLGT 3500cc, SL H 1600cc along with one make classes of the Mini, Nissan March, Ford Laser, Formula Ford and the Formula Mclarens 1300cc events are scheduled to be held during the day. Apart from the motor car events the organizers will work off a host of motor cycle events. The organizers will implement the new rule brought in by the Sri Lanka Racing Riders Association of introducing a qualifying race in order to determine a grid position in all the motor bike events. It has been mooted with the idea of uplifting the standards of the sport said a source of the organizing committee. The results of both the categories (cars and bikes) will be taken into account for the national championship awards.
