It is essential that a joint timetable is created, as there is an excess
of buses in Sri Lanka, says Secretary of the All Island Private Bus
Owners’ Union Federation, Anjana Priyanjith. He pointed out that the
conitinues issuing of route permits for buses by the Western Province
Passenger Transport Authority has caused several problems.
Our
union will not allow the inclusion of new buses, without the
implementation of a new joint timetable, Priyanjith vowed and added that
if any more buses are included it should be done after a joint
timetable is created.
